Originally conceived by Charlotte Culot as a mixed-media composition in 2018, Rhizomes 1 Colourful was translated into textile as part of Maison Rhizomes’ inaugural collection and exhibited at the Château de Vogüé in Ardèche, France. Layered fields of colour and cut forms reveal Culot’s ongoing exploration of composition, material and surface. Through hand-knotted textile, the work acquires a distinct tactile presence while remaining faithful to the character of the original artwork.
